Durham County Library and Durham County Extension Present: Sprouting Connection Gardening Lecture Series
Mutant Plants and Propagation
with Master Gardener Sara Smith and Extension Agent Ashley Troth
Lecture: Mutant Plants - Good or Bad?
"Why would I want a mutated plant?" the audience asks with wrinkled noses and furrowed brows. That's usually how this presentation begins.
About halfway through, the mood changes. "Hmmm, mutants" whispers the crowd. Still not sure, but willing to hear more.
By the end, the big question is "How can I get one?"
Vegetative propagation is a simple, and free way.
Plant Propagation Workshop
After a short break, we will convene for a workshop to learn how to make stem cuttings. All registrants will receive an email with suggestions of plants and how to collect a few branches to practice on and to swap with others. We will supply the equipment needed.
