Discover the wonderful world of moths! Often less admired and understood than butterflies, moths are very diverse and important in our ecosystem. In both programs, Kati Henderson from Duke Gardens will lead us through an exploration of these fun flying creatures – how to identify a moth, attract and spot moths at home or around your neighborhood, win a special moth patch, and use iNaturalist to share your observations with a global community of scientists. Plus, moth crafts and games for children.

***If you are able, please bring a smartphone or tablet device. We will be learning how to use iNaturalist to share your moth observations.

***A portion of this event will be outside so please plan accordingly.

We will have a smiliar moth kick off program for kids and caregivers at 3pm. Click here to register.

These programs are part of NC Moth Week - https://scienceacrossnc.org/events/moths/
