Come celebrate the launch of newly uncovered history, listen to a keynote featuring Dr. Charles Johnson of North Carolina Central University, and congregate with the creative determined minds behind The Stagville Memorial Project.
This event will serve as the celebratory debut of Making A Way Out of No Way - a digital exhibit curated by The Stagville Memorial Project, in partnership with North Carolina Central University (NCCU), The North Carolina Collection (NCC), and Durham County Library’s Small Business Center (SBC). Making A Way Out of No Way explores the contributions made by descendants of those formerly enslaved on Stagville Plantation on Durham’s community and culture during the Reconstruction Era and beyond. This exhibit is made possible by generous funding from Villanova University’s Lepage Center and North Carolina Humanities.
The Making A Way Out of No Way digital exhibit will be available for patrons through the North Carolina Collection.
Registration required.
