Houseplants: Methods and Materials to Create a Green Indoor Space
Interested in getting started with houseplants? Feeling like all your houseplants die but you don’t know why? Envious of those with lush indoor gardens?
Light, soil, containers, fertilizers, watering, and pest control all contribute to success with houseplants but can feel overwhelming when starting out. Some houseplants can handle indoor conditions easier than others. Join Durham County Extension Master Gardener Rita Mohanty for an introduction to houseplants! Houseplants add color, texture and warmth to indoor spaces. Learn how to grow and maintain indoor plants to improve the aesthetics and wellness of your indoor space!
Rita Mohanty is a technical executive with a PhD in Chemical Engineering. She has spent over 25 years in the field of electronics both in academia and industry. Her true passion is to create a sustainable culture through education and practical examples, both in industrial and community scale. She is a practicing Master Gardener supporting Durham County Extension through community outreach, volunteering at Briggs Ave Community Garden and various local gardening events.
October 12 starting at 10 am in the MakerLab located on the first floor of the Durham County Main Library at 300 North Roxboro Street.
