Every year on the second Tuesday in June, World Pet Memorial Day offers a time for pet owners to remember the furry companions that have passed away. In this children's program, we will be joined by Rebecca Maher, a clinical worker at the NC State Veterinary Hospital. Rebecca works supporting the people who bring their loved companions from bearded dragons, to goats, horses, birds, cats and dogs to NC State Veterinary Hospital, and the teams who care for them. In addition, as part of NC CVM/s outreach, she has provided care to animals keepers at the North Carolina Zoo and the Museum of Life and Science when long term residents have passed. In this program we will read books about pets, share stories about our pets we have lost, and create memorial books in memory of our animals.
