What are academic librarians? What do they do? Six African American Male Librarians from North Carolina A&T State University (F.D. Bluford Library) will discuss their journey and experiences in librarianship. Panelists will share their stories and highlight experiences that enable them to become educators, problems solvers, creatives, researchers and so much more. The session will call for audience engagement and feedback, as the panelist will seek to generate further dialogue on black males in librarianship. Libraries are spaces where innovation, critical thinking, and ideas are generated. Most are original in thought, others are remixed. Nonetheless, librarians are many times the catalyst behind great ideas and the role of the African American Male Librarian will be acknowledged and represented.
