Papel picado, which means 'punched' or 'perforated' paper, is a traditional cut paper folk art that originated in Mexico. It is created by folding and cutting designs into tissue paper. Learn how to make this beautiful craft and celebrate Durham County Library's Fiesta de la Cultura during Hispanic Heritage Month. This program is geared towards children ages 7-12. 

All supplies provided; registration required.

Papel picado, que significa 'papel perforado,' es un arte popular tradicional de papel cortado que se originó en México. Se crea doblando y cortando diseños en papel de seda. Aprende a hacer esta hermosa manualidad y celebra la Fiesta de la Cultura de la Biblioteca del Condado de Durham durante el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Este programa está dirigido a niños de 7 a 12 años.
