Learn how to enrich your child's speech and language, boost vocabulary, increase self-confidence, and stimulate intelligence through the use of American Sign Language (ASL). This program is designed to introduce parents and caregivers to the benefits of using ASL with pre-verbal infants and children in a classroom setting. Babies are always welcome, but the focus will be on teaching the parents and caregivers so they can use the signs in their daily lives with their children. Participants will learn basic signs that can facilitate communications between them and baby, helping them understand their child's needs, desires, and interests before they can speak. Participants will also learn various activities, songs, and methods for incorporating ASL into everyday life.
This program is brought to you by the generous support of the Durham Library Foundation.
Registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren at lwise@dconc.gov or call 919-560-0236. Thank you!
