Join us as we partner with Orange County Public Library to showcase the history on Bilingual Education in North Carolina. Librarian and Historian, Sarah, will share her expertise on North Carolina's Migrant Education Program as well as the materials she has developed for continuous learning. During this program you'll be taken on a WebQuest were you'll be an “exchange student” to the past, visiting Migrant Education Program schools around the state to learn about what school was like for Spanish-speaking children of migrant workers in North Carolina in the 1970s and 1980s.
If you are interested in learning about what education was like for Spanish-speaking children and some of our state’s first Mexican migrant workers, you will not want to miss this event!
