Miniature Books Bookbinding Workshop

Join Gerald Ward (Bibliopathologist) for a fun and engaging dive into the enchanting world of miniature books! This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the charming and intricate process of crafting tiny book structures. Perfect as unique gifts, delightful decorations, or personal keepsakes, miniature books blend the artistry of traditional bookbinding with the whimsy of small-scale design.

No experience is necessary, and all tools and materials will be provided. Whether you’re an experienced bookbinder or a curious beginner, you’ll leave with the skills, techniques, and inspiration to start your own miniature book collection.

If you have any accessibility questions or accommodation needs, please contact us at Maker_STEAM@dconc.gov. We ask that all requests be made at least 3 business days prior to the event to ensure we can provide the best accommodations possible!

Gerald is an experienced book and paper conservator and possesses a B.A. in English and an MLIS from UNC Greensboro. Prior to his current role as Librarian, Media & Digital Services at High Point University, Gerald spent over 18 years managing large regional conservation labs dedicated to the preservation of rare books and historical records. He is a member of AIC, ALA, SERCA, and the Guild of Bookworkers. If you are interested in seeing some of Gerald's projects, visit his website at www.bibliopathologist.com.
