Grab your notebook and a pen, and let's write! The Page & Pen Writing Workshop is a monthly meeting for anyone who wants to improve their creative writing skills. Session formats will vary month to month and may include writing exercises, discussion about technique and process, sharing ideas for organizing work sessions and workspaces, or exploration of any challenges you may be facing in the struggle to write.
Topic for this session: Resistance. This (mostly) internal foe is forever scheming to keep you from doing your work. We'll spend this hour digging in to ideas for overcoming resistance whenever possible.
Writing Prompts -- We'll do two very brief writing prompts to get the brain moving and the pen flowing.
Page Roulette -- This is an exercise where we'll open The War of Art by Steven Pressfield to a random page and read it aloud. After each reading, discussion could be thirty seconds or ten minutes, the group decides.
Wrap-up -- What are your current projects or aspirations? What kinds of future sessions might help?
This program is open to anyone at any time: drop in once, come each month, show up every once in a while -- no long-term commitment is required. Space is often limited, so please register in advance.
