Join us for an engaging presentation with Emily Behr, Piedmont Wildlife Educator and Director of Camp & Outdoor Learning.

How can we reimagine nature as our most powerful teacher? In this interactive session, homeschool families will explore how to weave the natural world into daily learning as a living, breathing classroom. Together we’ll discuss Nature Deficit Disorder, why outdoor connection matters for child development, and how to design engaging, flexible, nature-based lessons for all ages. Participants will leave with planning tools, fresh ideas, and confidence to take learning outside.

Emily is an environmental educator and advocate with a deep commitment to connecting young leaders with nature in meaningful, lasting ways.  As the Director of Camp and Outdoor Learning at Piedmont Wildlife Center, Emily runs camps that support innovative, nature-based programs that support the social-emotional development, resilience, and curiosity of young learners. She believes time in nature is essential for raising thoughtful, capable, and connected future leaders.

This presentation is part of The Homeschool Conference and Resource Fair at the Durham County North Regional Library.

This event is free and open to all! Registration is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
