Online Job Searching & Resume Writing Class

Online Job Searching & Resume Writing Class

Join for a class that covers online job searching and resume writing! In this class you will learn about active and passive online job searching techniques. We will be covering online job search resources and websites, how to create a professional presence online, and how to manage all of your job search information. In addition, you will learn how to use Microsoft Word to format your resume using margins, bullet points, and “power verbs.” Registration is required. A laptop will be provided for you to use during the program. Instructors are from the Community Workshop Series at UNC-CH.

This program can help you prepare for the Durham County Library Job Fair! Join us on August 31st from 10am - 2pm at East, North, and South Regionals, as well as the Main Library, for a systemwide job fair for our adult community! We've invited a wide variety of local employers to meet with job seekers in person; you can discuss open positions, the application process, and even interview on the spot. With many positions to fill, now is a great time to start on a new career path, find a new opportunity, or learn a new skill or trade. We will be offering same day resume review, head shots, access to online and print resources, and more to help you achieve success!
