This easy-to-use machine can cut, score, and/or engrave many different heavier materials such as wood, cardboard, and some plastics.

Pricing
- Birch plywood - 6" x 12" x 1/8" = $2.00 per sheet
- Birch plywood - 12" x 20" x 1/8" = $4.00 per sheet
- Acrylic - 12" x 12" x 1/8" = $8.00 per sheet
Material costs will be added to your library account. You can pay this by logging into your account online or at a self-checkout machine.
Usage procedures
Printable procedures (PDF) To use this equipment, you will need to have completed any required training and signed a safety waiver for the current year.
Design creation
- Designs must not violate the Library’s Technology Policy.
- Designs must not be larger than the dimensions of the laser cutter.
- Maximum material width: 21" (53.3 cm)
- Maximum material height: 2"
- Maximum cutting height: 1/2" (1.2 cm)
- Maximum cutting / engraving height with tray: 1/2” (1.2 cm)
- Use of tray is preferred to preserve the machine.
Submitting/cutting a design
- Must be 13 years of age or older or have parent/guardian permission. Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present to sign the Safety Waiver.
- You can purchase some materials at the library (see above for pricing).
- If you bring your own materials, they must be pre-approved by a staff member and on the approved materials list.
- You can use the laser cutter for a maximum of 2 hours at one time.
- You must have an active library card/account.
- You will be asked to sign a Safety Waiver for the County in person when you come for your reservation. The Safety Waiver will then be valid for one year.
- Staff review all project files, so please use appropriate designs.
- Staff reserve the right to refuse to cut any item.
Final product
- Cutting times may vary depending on your design.
- Library staff are not responsible for the outcome of your object.
- If you purchase library materials, the cost for your materials will be charged to your library account.
- You must pay for your materials before using the laser cutter.
- You must remain at the laser cutter through the entirety of the cut.
